Pluslife Tongue-Swab MTB Diagnostics Presented at the Union World Conference on Lung Health

Last week in Paris, Dr. Zhou Songyang, the founder of Pluslife, and Mr. Chong Chen, the CEO, participated in the Union World Conference on Lung Health. During the event, Pluslife MTB testing was presented by FIND in the session titled "Unlocking the Potential of Tongue Swabs to Expand Access to TB Testing."

The Union World Conference on Lung Health is the largest global gathering of professionals and advocates dedicated to addressing the challenges of lung disease, particularly in low- and middle-income populations. The theme for 2023 is "Transforming evidence into practice," emphasizing the importance of converting research into practice and striving for evidence-based health policies and decisions to alleviate the suffering caused by lung diseases worldwide.

At the conference, one notable topic is the application of tongue-swab TB diagnostics, with the introduction of Pluslife MTB testing to the audience. Different from most of the existing TB products, the specimen for Pluslife MTB testing is tongue swab and sputum, which enables point of care collection and testing, where the majority of TB patients seek care. The clinical sensitivity and specificity of Pluslife MTB testing are both above 95%. It is easy to use as rapid antigen tests, offering PCR-level accuracy at a low cost, and making it accessible for primary healthcare and screening. Results can be obtained within just 30 minutes.
